Apple planning to bring augmented reality headset by 2020
Tech giant apple is planning to bring it’s personal augmented reality headset by the year 2020. According to a report by Bloomberg, the company is going to have technology ready for it by 2019 and would likely to ship it to customers by as early as 2020.
As stated by the experts, unlike other headsets which need a smartphone to function, apple’s augmented headset will have it’s own display. It will run on a new chip and operating system developed by the company itself.
Since the time stated by company to develop the technology is very narrow, it can changes according to the company officials.
Other than apple, various other companies are working on their version of augmented reality projects. Google has released it’s own blueprint for $1,500 smart glasses which will be released by company in near future.
It’s not a hidden truth that applications of AR in coming time would be immense. Apple CEO Tim Cook in a recent talk has said, “We’re already seeing things that will transform the way you work, play, connect and learn.” “Put simply, we believe AR is going to change the way we use technology forever” he added.
Now since the release date for Apple’s augmented reality headset is two years away, company has actually it’s developers to start working on it’s features. For this, the company is reportedly going to release ARKit software tools by next year.
