ANU offers online application for both domestic and international students who want to apply for undergraduate and postgraduate courses. The online application portal allows you to submit your application, upload supporting documents, track your application status, and receive your offer letter. You can also apply for scholarships, accommodation, and exchange programs through the online portal.

To apply online, you will need to create an account on the ANU Application Manager website. You can only apply for one program at a time, so make sure you choose the best degree for you from the ANU programs and courses catalogue.

You will also need to meet the admission criteria and entry schemes for your preferred program, as well as the English language requirements. Your application will be assessed by ANU and ranked against other candidates applying for the same program.

Australian National University Eligibility for admission

For admission to undergraduate courses at ANU, the following qualifications from an approved institution will be considered when assessing your eligibility:

  • Completion of an Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) level 5 or higher including associate degree, diploma or advanced diploma (except for admission to law courses)
  • Successful completion of at least one year’s full-time study load (1.0 FTE) in a single bachelor course study.

A selection rank determined by the assessment of the above tertiary-level studies will supersede the ATAR or equivalent achieved during secondary studies. If you have achieved only part of the above, the ATAR or equivalent achieved in your secondary studies will take precedence.

Note: The definition of what is considered a standard full-time study load can vary between universities.

If you are completing an Australian Year 12, the International Baccalaureate or the NCEA Level 3, you should submit your application through the Universities Admissions Centre (UAC). You can find a full list of ANU undergraduate programs and application deadlines on the UAC website.

ANU participates in UAC offer rounds throughout the year in September, October, November, December and January. UAC application fees apply. You will need to pay the application fee to UAC and the amount will depend on when you apply to ANU.
