As the year ends, we are getting to see more and more rumors about the iPhone models launching next year. According to what we know till now, Apple is going to launch 3 smartphone models next year. One of the is going to be a 4-inch smartphone with a design inspired by iPhone SE. The other smartphones are rumored to feature 6.1 inch LCD display and 6.5 inch OLED display.
The latest report in iDrop News has suggested that Apple is working on a smartphone which will bring iPhone X features to an entry-level smartphone by Apple. The report suggests a fusion of iPhone X and iPhone 5C, with face ID enabled bezel-less smartphone and polycarbonate colorful back. Though the report seems unrealistic as of now, it focuses on some of the solid points, which make us believe in the concept.
The response to iPhone X has clearly overwhelmed Apple and the company is now looking to continue the successful run to triumph the entry-level segment as well. Accordingly, a smartphone at a price range of $450-550, equipped with technology like Face ID and True Depth Camera and the branding of Apple, might work wonders for the company. Especially, in the markets where the company is targetting to beat the competition (includes China and India).
Another point mentioned in the report states that bezel-less smartphones are now common among the manufacturers. The colorful back panel, same as iPhone 5C, will give Apple the required cost cutting and will help the customers own an iPhone with the best technology at a much cheaper price point. Another cost-cutting feature could be the introduction of an LCD screen instead of an OLED panel.
Another positive point in adding a plastic back panel is the increased durability and that the back panel will be able to support wireless charging.
This is all we have for now. The report seems unrealistic, however, is backed by some solid points. Let us know your views on this and how you think such a smartphone from Apple could perform on the market.
